The dimensions on this item listing are not standard for American mattresses. Following is the size chart for standard American mattresses:
- Twin 38” x 75”
- Twin Long 38” x 80”
- Double 54” x 75”
- Queen 60” x 80”
- King (aka Eastern King) 76” x 80”
- California King 72” x 84”
As this difference of size between European vs. American beds often presents a challenge, we offer the following suggestions:
- A custom cut mattress can be made to fit the bed. We do have an excellent source for this. The mattress is made from high-end visco elastic and provides excellent support and comfort. These mattresses are distributed by a company called Sleepyzzz. You can check out their website at, www.sleepyzzz.com. We would be happy to request a quote for you.
The next suggestions may not be possible with all beds; therefore we cannot guarantee that either of these options will be appropriate for the particular bed in which you are interested; however they are options that you may want to consider:
- The length of the bed frame may be able to be adjusted by a specialist. We recommend contacting a mattress or bed store in your area to find such a specialist.
- Based upon the particular design of the bed, it is sometimes possible to leave off the side boards and use only the headboard and the footboard by attaching them directly to your bed frame. Again, this may require a specialist.
- Some people who have run into this problem have actually been able to squeeze their American mattress to fit the odd sized bed.
